The original Hunter Stoves (Mells) Ltd was formed in the very early 1970’s to satisfy a local need of wood burning stoves for off-grid boiler installations in Somerset and Wiltshire. In 1996 Paul Grimes and Steve Clatworthy purchased the design and manufacturing rights, and relocated the business to an old warehouse they leased just outside Exeter. With a handful of trusted employees, some manufacturing design drawings and a network of loyal dealers the re-emergence of the Hunter brand began....
