In the early 1980s, industrial designer Gérard Pitance was looking for a fire to heat the house that he had decided to live in. When he couldn’t find anything satisfactory on the market, he decided to design a product to fulfil his own criteria. The reactions from the people around him were so enthusiastic that he decided to market this model.
This very first Stûv already contained all the elements that make Stûv an innovative, different company: combining the pleasures of fire with an efficient heating system, an enclosed fire that also works as an open fire...
From Isnes to Bois-de-Villers, the team grew and the company began to take shape.
Stûv are designed and manufactured in Belgium, right in the heart of Europe. Maintaining local roots with suppliers where possible responds to Stûv’s desire to make the most of local potential and reduce its environmental footprint.
Stûv develops products that respond to a real need, whether it’s practical, physiological or psychological. The solutions developed by Stûv always take into account the concerns of anybody who comes into contact with it: the people who manufacture the product, those who install it, those who use it and those who carry out the maintenance on it. The quality of the products stems from this spirit of innovation and on-going commitment to improving technical performance, in order to boost the satisfaction that the user takes from day-to-day use.
Freestanding Models
Stûv 6-H - Affordable, easy to install, with new options, the Stûv 6-H wood-burning stove gives as many people as possible access to a fireplace designed for small spaces and energy-efficient homes. With its high level of efficiency and incredibly low fine particle emissions, the Stûv 6 performs better than the requirements stipulated by the Ecodesign standard for 2022. Small in size, heating power and price, this stove proves to be great for its comfort and performance that respects the environment. These fires are also available as an insert model.

Stûv 30 -

Timeless and revolutionary at the same time. The Stûv 30 is the very first wood-burning stove to offer three modes of use. Although now in its third generation, it is still revolutionary with its 3-in-1 system: open fire, glass door, or solid door. To change the mode of use you just need to pivot the drum of your Stûv 30 to the desired position.
3-door system
The glass door gives a magnificent view of the flames, guaranteeing safety, eco- friendliness and savings, thanks to its excellent output. The solid door slows down the fire and optimises performance. The open fire mode means that you can make the most of the crackling flames, the smell of the wood... and even have a barbeque!
There are various models within the Stuv 30 range from the standard compact, to inset, tall and even wall hanging versions. The taller models even let you add heat storage stones which accumulate heat and release it long after the fire has gone out.
Stuv 16 - The clean lines of this family of wood stoves emphasise the dancing flames. The advanced combustion engine guarantees a very attractive output. There's 3 different sizes - narrow, intermediate and wide giving outputs between 5 - 10kW and taking up to a 60cm log.
These fires can be sat on their base, wall hung, come with built in logs stores, be inset into a fireplace insets or integrated on a locally sourced oak stand or any other custom-made base. Whether in stone, metal, wood, or your own unique creation, let your imagination run free.

Stûv 21 - This range of built in insert fires comprises a built-in stove with retractable window. The glass door slides upwards and is hidden behind the brickwork. The stove is then like an open fire or a hearth which enables you to grill food ! With the glass door lowered, it produces excellent efficiency and ensures complete safety. Its exceptionally large glass door provides a perfect view of the fire. All mechanical parts of the Stûv 21 stove are housed in the door, which pivots for easy maintenance. It's available in a wide range of sizes, single- and double-sided versions with many possible finishes. Using a frame is a practical way of creating a finish between the stove and the masonry. It hides the thickness of the wall behind which the stove is installed and therefore makes possible a "minimalist" finish of the opening. The Stûv front panels are available in 19 colours of temperature-resistant powdered paint, as well as in a rust option (steel that has been oxidised then stabilised).

Stûv 22 - Make the most out of the flames thanks to an almost invisible frame. Infinitely customisable: steel, stone, wood, thanks to a patented technique which means the finish material can be applied as close as possible to the fire. A unique appliance with peak efficiency which is available in 3 widths: 70, 90 and 110 cm in both single and double faced fires. With its authenticity of open fire, in the open fire mode, the Stûv 22 stimulates your 5 senses, where the window slides for complete retraction. With the window closed, the stove produces all the heat you could want. No unwanted detail interferes with your view of the fire. With its wide operating range, the Stûv 22 operates equally well at low power (5 kW) and at full output (up to 18 kW). There is the option of the 19 different colour options to go with the various frames and cladding options that are available. For easy maintenance, the frame pivots, giving access to the inside of the window and to the technical components of the stove with no requirement for dismantling.
